Expected Launch Date

Apple's keynote is widely tipped for Tuesday, September 8 or Wednesday, September 9, 2026, with most reports leaning toward September 9. If Apple follows its usual pattern, the phone would go on sale around Friday, September 18.

Notably, the regular iPhone 18 is reportedly being pushed to spring 2027, meaning only the iPhone 18 Pro, 18 Pro Max, and the foldable are expected at this event.

Six Key Features to Expect

1. A book-style fold — but wider than rivals. Unlike most foldables, the iPhone Ultra will reportedly be wider than it is tall when opened, using an iPad-like 4:3 aspect ratio. That should mean far less letterboxing when watching videos compared to the Galaxy Z Fold series.
